Frequently asked questions:
Below are questions I have been asked multiple times and other important ones which I feel are best answered here. Please have a read through before asking anything.
General Questions:Q - Are you open for commissions?
A - Check my Trello (linked on home page), All my available slots are there when I'm open, more slots are added as I finish my queue. I also update my Instagram and Twitter bio and pinned Facebook post to say if I'm open or closed. Q - Do you do payment plans? A - Yes, on most things from fullsuits and fursuit parts to art! (details in my TOS!) Q - Where are you based? A - Wales, UK Q - How much is shipping to [------] ? A - Shipping is calculated after commissions are completed to get an accurate quote as I need the weight, value and package size! Q - Will you ship to [-------]? A - I will ship to UK and the US. Not currently shipping or providing services to countries in the EU or Canada, if you are elsewhere be sure to check if possible to ship to you. This may change in the future and will be updated accordingly. Q - Will you hold a slot for me? A - You must pay the non-refundable deposit to secure a slot. But I will sometimes accept half of the non-refundable deposit total to secure the slot. (be sure to check with me first!) Q - Can I have a quote? A - Yes I will happily give you a quote, but please help quicken the process if DMing me for one and send your refsheet along with what type of commission you are after. For example.. " I would like a fleece faced head with drybrushing, magnetic eyelids, standard puffy paws with fleece claws and a 20 inch tail" Or the best way to save typing is to fill out my quote form (found on homepage) Q - Can you use [-----]'s headbase/ pattern to make my suit? A - No, I only use my own bases and templates which I have developed over the years of fursuit making, I much prefer to keep my work my own. Q - Can you make my suit in [-------]'s style? A - No. if you want a suit in a specific makers style, you should commission them. I am open to making headbases with specifics (smaller muzzle, bigger eyes ect) just no style replicating. Q - Can you refurb my suit? A - If its a suit previously made by me, then yes! Though I do suggest commissioning a new head or parts if they have worn out/are damaged over years of wear. When getting a refurb it includes a good deep clean, then bits like new eyes, adding in extras (such as magnetic lids), updating the foam base if an older suit, refurring the face, full checkover. |
General fursuit construction questions:Q - What are your headbases made from?
A - My headbases are carved from upholstery foam of different densities. Q - What are your eyes made from? A - My following eyes are made from 5mm high density EVA foam for the eye whites and Aida cloth for the iris and pupils which have black backs to improve vision. Q - Do you handsew or machine sew? A - It depends on which fursuit part I'm working on. I handsew fursuit faces and other small details and complicated patterns. Where possible I will machine sew areas such as the back of heads, necks, armsleeves, tails, bodysuits and most of the feetpaws. Q - Do you line your fursuit heads? A - Yes, they are lined inside with a stretch fabric or lycra material, if you have a specific preference let me know when you are commissioning me. Q - What is the difference between fleece/minky faced heads and standard furred heads? A - Fleece/minky faced heads look neater in my opinion and require no shaving on the heads, they look even better with some drybrushing too. Seams are hard to avoid on cheeks and muzzles though, especially on heads with large solid areas of colour, but are picked out to hide them as much as possible. When patterning, seams are carefully placed to hide as many as possible in markings. Furred heads require shaving to tidy up the face and multiple tidy up shaves to make sure they're nice and neat (hence the higher cost due to more time taken) Q - What species will you make? A - I am happy to make any species, both real life and mythical/hybrids. I have examples of rodents, canines, angel dragons ,western dragons a deer and felines and wish to build up my portfolio further. Q - What is the vision like in your suits? A - The vision is great with a small blindspot in the middle as expected, the backs of the eyes are black to help reduce glare. Q - What is the ventilation like in your suits? A - Ventilation is good in my suits, the backs of my heads have no foam (unless its required in construction which will be discussed if so), my following eyes have big vision holes which offer good airflow and the mouths give good to great airflow depending on the species ect. Q - Can I ask for edits on a headbase during the carving stage? A - Yes, I carve each head individually and I can make muzzles shorter, longer, thicker or thinner. A more kemono style is possible too and I have made a personal head in said style. (see Turnip in the fursuit head gallery) It is my style with larger eyes and a much smaller muzzle. Be aware if you want a kemono style head that the blind spot is larger than usual and ventilation is much more limited. |
